Immunohistochemical Study on the Presence of Placental Proteins(SP_1, hCG & hPL) in the Fetus
Kim Hy-Sook

Park Tae-Soo
Abstract
Many authors accepted that most of pregnancy proteins including pregnancy-specific ¥â©û-glycoprotein(SP©û) are produced by syncytial trophoblast. However, Park and Kim(1980) suggested the possibility of fetal production of some pregnamcy proteins by immunofluorescent method. In order to reveal the possibility of fetal production of SP©û, the author used 26 fetal tissue of varying age from endometrial curettings and tubal pregnancy. The specimens were fixed in 10% formalin and stained by peroxidase-antiperoxidase kit for SP©û, human chronic gonadotropin(hCG) and human placental lactogen(hPL). The author found positive materials as fine or coarse granules within the cytoplasm and linear deposits along the three cell surface in various cells according to their embryogenetic date. Additionally the author could found the complete cross positivities among those substances.
